To call a Lladro porcelain figurine pottery is akin to calling a Lamborghini a car. It is an injustice to associate such an exquisitely detailed piece of art with pottery.
A Lladro porcelain figurine that is of normal dimensions will require as many as fifteen different alterations and more than four hundred for the finely detailed tiny accessories that are on the primary piece. A liquid paste composed of porcelain is utilized to join the small individual pieces. This will give the artisan a concept of what the ultimate product is going to look like. Once the base is completed, the next phase is to decorate it. Initially, the surface of the figurine is very smooth this means that every piece will need painstaking work to get it done correctly. The artist then creates a pattern onto the figurine, and this will start to give the figurine life. The details of the face are then added, and the smallest details are added to make it as real appearing as possible.
If you have held Lladro figurines you already know of the flower that decorates every figurine. These are one of the most impressive aspects of the porcelain figures because they are incredibly delicate yet incredibly detailed. These flowers are made by professionals who make it amazingly from clay. I understand that I could never make something like this. Every single flower is unique depending on the size of the figurine.
The last step of the lladro figurine producing process is by firing it by putting the unfinished figurines into a kiln. This usually takes about a day, and during this time the figurines are exposed to severe heat temperatures. Eventually, the porcelain will start to become harder, and it will actually get smaller during this procedure. The amazing piece of work is now finished, and it is a unique piece of art that is ready for people around the world to add to their collection.
