Lladro Children of The World Figurine Presented

Recently Lladró presented Children of the world a new Lladro figurine at the Operation Smile Annual Gala in Los Angeles.
Lladró presented the Children of the world figurine at the 7th Annual Smile Gala held in Los Angeles. Over the past two years, the art porcelain company has been closely related with this charity organization whose mission is to cure facial deformities in underprivileged children all over the world.

Retired Lladros

Lladro has retired quite a few of their Lladro figurines. My wife has several in her collections. Did you know there is a Lladro catalog? It is not a free item but it will have all of the Lladros that have been marketed since Lladro was founded in 1953 by three brothers of the Lladro family. My wife’s copy has become a bit dog-eared with use.
My Wife Collects Lladros

My wife has been collecting Lladros for several years. Due to the price of them, she has only gotten them on special occasions such as Christmas, anniversaries and such. One such occasion arose when we were in Rome several years ago on a once in a lifetime trip. Walking through the lobby of the Hilton Hotel, where we were staying, we spotted a beautiful Lladro of a mother with her sleeping daughter leaning against the mother’s leg. (The photo of this statuary is to the side of this post.) We inquired as to the price and was surprised to find what we considered a cheap Lladro figurine. We purchased it, had it shipped and paid the VAT tax as we were leaving the Rome airport. When we got home, we found the value to be several hundred dollars more than we had paid for it. On top of that, we applied and received a refund on the VAT tax. We were pleased to find it survived the trip intact. It now occupies a place of honor on our mantle.
